A gentle touch, awakened intelligence, restored flow.

Spinal Flow Technique

A gentle, science-informed method to release stress and support the body’s natural healing intelligence.

Spinal Flow Technique is a hands-on approach developed by Dr. Carli Axford, a former chiropractor with extensive clinical experience in spine and nervous-system health. The method is based on more than 20 years of research, observation, and practice, combining neurophysiology with the understanding that the body possesses an innate intelligence a natural ability to reorganize, repair, and heal itself.

Through light touch on specific points along the spine, Spinal Flow helps the nervous system shift from stress and tension toward regulation, ease, and flow.

A Nervous-System Based Method

Modern neuroscience shows that chronic stress physical, emotional, or chemical can create tension patterns in the spine and nervous system. These patterns may contribute to pain, fatigue, sleep problems, digestive issues, anxiety, and emotional overload.

Spinal Flow works with:

  • The spine the main communication pathway between brain and body.
  • The autonomic nervous system regulating stress and relaxation.
  • Neuroplasticity the nervous system’s ability to reorganize and create new patterns.

By activating 33 access points along the spine, the technique encourages the body to release stored stress and return to a more regulated state.

The Seven Gateways of the Spine

Dr. Carli identified seven gateways key regions where stress accumulates and where the nervous system can release tension effectively.

Each gateway reflects:

  • Muscular tension.
  • Spinal mobility.
  • Nervous-system responsiveness.
  • Circulation and tissue quality.

Assessing these gateways allows the session to be tailored to your body’s specific needs.

What Spinal Flow Can Support

According to Dr. Carli’s clinical experience, Spinal Flow has helped people with a wide range of stress-related symptoms, including:

  • Chronic pain.
  • Headaches and migraines.
  • Fibromyalgia.
  • Chronic fatigue.
  • Digestive issues.
  • Reproductive or hormonal imbalance.
  • Anxiety and depression.
  • “Mystery” illnesses or unexplained symptoms.

These improvements are consistent with the nervous system shifting from a sympathetic (fight/flight) state toward a parasympathetic (rest/repair) state.

How a Session Works

Sessions are gentle and non-invasive. You remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on a treatment table.

A typical session includes:

  • A short conversation about your current state.
  • Assessment of the Seven Gateways.
  • Gentle activation of the 33 access points.
  • Time for the body to release tension.
  • Integration and grounding.

Clients often describe sensations such as warmth, relaxation, subtle movement, emotional release, or a deep sense of calm.

My Integrative Approach

As a hypnotherapist, mindfulness teacher, Ayurvedic advisor, energy therapist, and somatic practitioner, I integrate Spinal Flow with a holistic understanding of the body and mind.

This creates a therapeutic environment where:

  • Your nervous system feels safe.
  • Your body can reorganize.
  • Your emotions can settle.
  • Your energy can flow more freely.

My intention is to support your natural healing intelligence with clarity, presence, and compassion.
